School Council

November 2024

On Tuesday 5th November, our wonderful school council members were invited to the Town Hall in Woolwich to meet the Mayor of Greenwich.

The trip started off with an exciting bus journey, full of chatter and laughter making our way there. Upon our arrival, we were greeted and amazed by the beautiful building of the town hall. The high, light pink ceilings and the wealth of History really took our breath away. We were very lucky to meet a local councillor who took us around her office and showed us the day to day running of the office.

After a quick tour, we had the opportunity to meet the Mayor, we were able to ask him lots of questions about what his day to day looked like, how he became Mayor and why he wanted to become the Mayor. We then participated in a debate, debating about whether we should get more school holidays or not. The motion was voted in favour of more school holidays for schools, with one person abstaining from voting. After our debate, we were invited for some refreshments and had a chance to try on the Mayor’s cloak. It was such a fantastic day which our school council loved!

June 2024

The School Council enjoyed meeting with the PTFA, where they shared and presented their ideas. The PTFA took their feedback on board, and together we have decided to organise a whole school cooking day. We hope the PTFA will fund this event, and the School Council will plan and decide on the various activities.
